Owners often ask what a website costs after the build. The honest answer is a list of line items, not one magic number. Hosting companies change prices, domain registrars change prices, and your time has a cost even when no invoice arrives. This page names the categories. It does not invent typical dollar amounts we have not sourced.
Costs you pay whether or not you hire JTM
A live site needs a domain name, a place to host the files, and a working HTTPS certificate. Most hosts bundle the certificate. Email for that domain is separate if you want inbox@yourcompany.ca instead of a free mailbox. None of those are JTM packages. Shop them as their own bills, and keep the accounts in your name.
Then there is time. Someone has to add a new service, swap winter photos for summer ones, fix a form that stopped sending, and reply when Google emails you about the listing. If nobody owns that, the site goes stale even when hosting is paid.
- Domain renewal, usually billed yearly by the registrar you already use.
- Hosting or a website platform fee. Amounts vary by vendor; we will not quote a range we did not look up for your account.
- Business email on that domain, if you use it.
- Owner time to send photos, approve copy and call people back.
- Optional advertising. Ads are a separate budget and they stop when you stop paying.
If a vendor quotes you a single monthly number that mixes hosting, ads and "SEO", ask them to split it. You should be able to cancel one piece without losing the domain.
What JTM charges, when you buy from us
Two prices are published on this site. The Local Proof Sprint is CA$1,500 one time for a defined 30-day fix: phone-ready pages, listing tidy-up, tracking and a hand-over. Website Care is CA$450 a month after the site already works on a phone: updates, backups, a monthly quote-form test, up to two small changes, one local content piece, Google listing upkeep and a one-page report.
Care is optional. After the first three months it is month to month with 30 days' notice. You keep the site, domain and logins either way. If you only need a one-time repair, buy the Sprint and run the rest yourself.
What we will not put a dollar figure on
We will not tell you what "the average Saskatoon website" costs to host, what Google ads cost per click in this city, or what a custom build outside the Sprint should be, until we have looked at your URL. Those numbers change, and a made-up range helps nobody.
A useful way to judge spend is the value of one job you actually want. If the site cannot take a quote request on a phone, fixing that is the first money that makes sense. Run the free website check on your homepage, then ask for a 15-minute walkthrough if you want us to show you the list.
For how the pages themselves should work in this city, see website design for Saskatoon businesses.
