When someone in Saskatoon searches for a roofer, a printer or a home builder, Google often shows a map and a short list of businesses before the regular blue links. That list comes from Google Business Profile, not from a Facebook page and not from hoping your homepage ranks. Showing up there is a listing job plus a website that matches the listing.

Claim and finish the profile

Create or claim the Google Business Profile for the real business name. Use the name customers already use, not a keyword stuffed into the title. Set a primary category that matches the work (for example general contractor, printer or roofing contractor), then add extra categories only if you truly do that work.

If customers come to you, use the real street address. If you go to them, set a service area instead of inventing a storefront. JTM will not put a fake Saskatoon address on a profile. Hours, phone and website URL need to match what is on the site.

What Google says it uses

Google's own help for local results names three things: relevance (does the listing match the search), distance (how far the searcher is from you or your service area), and prominence (how well known the business is). We cannot buy prominence. We can make the listing complete, keep the name and phone consistent with the website, and show real jobs.

  • Same business name, phone and website on the listing and on the site.
  • Categories that match the work, not every category Google offers.
  • Photos of actual jobs in Saskatoon and area, not stock crews.
  • Posts when something real changes: seasonal hours, a finished job, a service you actually run.
  • Reviews from real customers. Never buy them, never write them yourself.

The Google Business Profile product itself does not have a monthly fee from Google. Agencies may charge to manage it. JTM's published Website Care plan includes listing upkeep with one post and new photos a month at CA$450, alongside the rest of the care work.

The website still matters

The listing can send a tap-to-call. People who want more still open the website. If that site fails on a phone, or the name on the homepage does not match the listing, you leak the click. Local SEO in Saskatoon is the listing and the pages together: Search Console, service pages, schema and a tidy profile.

Distance is not something a Saskatoon shop can hack. If the searcher is in Confederation and you are set up as a service-area business covering the city, you can still appear. If you only serve Warman, say that. Misleading distance does not hold.

What we will not promise

We will not promise the number three pin on a map, a review count, or a date when the pack will include you. Neighbours, Google's rules and how complete your profile is all sit outside a guarantee. The work we will do is the list above, then a plain report of what we can see in Search Console once it is connected.
