SEO and AEO for Saskatoon searches
Local search here is Maps, a handful of blue links, and answer-style results that want a fact they can quote. JTM works on the Google listing, the pages and the structure so those surfaces agree. We do not promise page one.
Maps, links and answers are different doors
Treating them as one "SEO package" is how owners buy reports and still miss calls.
- The map and local pack come from Google Business Profile: category, service area or address, hours, photos, reviews from real customers.
- Regular results need crawlable pages, titles, internal links and Search Console. A listing cannot replace a roofing page.
- AEO is making those facts easy to cite: clear services, city, phone and FAQ answers that match the page, plus schema that does not invent reviews.
Work that matches this city, not a generic checklist
Categories have to match the trade you actually sell. A printer is not a general contractor. A home builder is not a realtor. Extra categories you do not deliver confuse the listing and the site.
Service area has to match reality. Plenty of crews cover the city plus Warman, Martensville and the acreages. Say that. Do not pin a downtown storefront you do not staff. Distance is one of the three factors Google publishes for local results (along with relevance and prominence). You cannot honestly "beat" a closer competitor on distance.
Seasonal work is normal here: snow, decks, siding, event apparel. Listing posts and a site notice should follow the season you are in, not a stock calendar from another country.
What we actually do
- Baseline on a phone. Site, titles, quote path, listing name and phone. The free website check is the public version of the homepage part.
- Foundation. Many owners need the Local Proof Sprint first so the site can be crawled and used. Search work on a broken phone layout wastes the month.
- Pages and listing. Service pages for Saskatoon searches, internal links, schema that matches visible text, categories and photos on the profile.
- Keep it true. Website Care at CA$450 a month: one local content piece, listing post and photos, form test, and a one-page report. No jargon deck.

Saskatoon search questions
Why do I show in Google Maps but not when someone types my service plus Saskatoon?
Maps and the local pack use your Google Business Profile. Regular results also need pages that match the search, titles Google can read, and a site that can be crawled. Those are different surfaces. We work on both.
How long does local search work usually take to show movement?
There is no honest date. Google decides when to recrawl and how to rank you against neighbours. We do the foundation (listing, pages, Search Console, schema) and report what we can see. We do not promise page one.
What should I post on a Saskatoon Google Business Profile?
Real jobs, seasonal offers you actually run, hours changes, and photos from sites around the city. Website Care includes one post and new photos a month. Empty or copied posts do not help.
Do paid ads replace the need for SEO in Saskatoon?
No. Ads stop when the budget stops. Search and Maps keep using the listing and the site. Many owners run both once the phone experience works. JTM does not sell ad management as a package.
What if I serve Warman, Martensville and the acreages, not only the city?
Say so on the listing as a service area and on the website with clear area copy. Do not hide that, and do not claim a street address you do not have. We keep the listing and the pages in agreement.
